Dar Global, the London-listed developer known for high-end projects, has announced a landmark plan. The Trump Organization is partnering with them on this major initiative.
Together, they will build the Trump International Hotel Maldives. They will also launch the first hotel development to be tokenized from the ground up.
A New Model That Tokenizes Development From Day One
Tokenization means turning ownership rights into digital tokens that live on a blockchain. In most real estate projects that use tokens, developers wait until the property is finished before offering them. This project is different. Dar Global will tokenize the development stage itself. It will let investors take part while the resort is being built. It opens the door for earlier access to premium real estate and could set a new standard for global developers.

The resort will be only 25 minutes by speedboat from Malé. It will offer about 80 ultra luxury beach and overwater villas aimed at travelers who want privacy and comfort. The goal is to open by the end of 2028. For comparison, the tokenized real estate trend has been growing fast. Last year, real estate tokenization volumes in the United States and Europe passed one billion dollars, according to market tracking firms. This shows rising interest in digital ownership models that let people invest in property with smaller amounts of capital.

The decision to use blockchain reflects a broader trend. Developers are searching for new ways to raise funds, increase transparency, and give investors more flexibility. Tokenized models help achieve these goals because they divide ownership into smaller digital pieces.
These pieces can be traded more easily than traditional real estate shares, which gives investors greater mobility in uncertain markets.
