Toyota, BYD, and Yamaha now accept USDT for vehicle purchases. People can buy cars, motorcycles, and other vehicles using a stablecoin instead of cash.
By allowing dealerships to accept USDT, customers now have a faster and safer way to make large payments.
Why This Is Happening
The US dollar has been in short supply in Bolivia over the years. Reserves declined to only $171 million in August 2025 compared to $12.7 billion in 2014. Meanwhile, inflation is rising, the boliviano is weakening, and people are seeking alternatives. This is why digital dollars such as USDT are becoming popular. Pegged 1:1 to the US dollar, USDT offers stability in a time when traditional money is hard to find.
Toyota, BYD, and Yamaha dealerships are working with Toyota Bolivia, the country’s official distributor. They have collaborated with a firm called BitGo to ensure that everything operates well. They already offer secure transactions and safe crypto storage.

Local banks are also in play, such as Towerbank, so that payments in USDT are easy and controlled. The customers will encounter signs in the dealerships that will have the slogan “Tu vehiculo en dolares digitales.” The slogan translates to “your vehicle in digital dollars.”
Why Accepting USDT Matters
Allowing dealerships to accept USDT solves many problems at once:
- No more searching for scarce US cash.
- It is faster and more reliable for transactions.
- You get lower fees and fewer intermediaries.
This shows how stablecoins are no longer only investment tools. They are becoming real-world solutions for payments, helping both businesses and consumers.

They are helpful in the real world, and they are gaining prominence.
