This approval allows DTC to begin offering a tokenization service for traditional, DTC custodied assets. The service will operate in a controlled production environment.
The service to Tokenize Traditional Market Assets is expected to begin rolling out in the second half of 2026. It marks one of the most significant steps yet toward connecting traditional finance with emerging digital asset technology.
Tokenizing Assets with Full Investor Protection
The SEC’s No Action Letter authorizes DTC to tokenize certain assets for participants and their clients on pre approved blockchains for three years. Tokenization is the process of creating a digital version of a real-world asset, which can then be moved or settled on a blockchain. DTC’s versions of these assets will carry the same ownership rights, investor protections and legal status as their traditional form. This is notable because it ensures that the digital asset is not just a representation but a protected extension of the real one.

The authorization applies to a defined group of highly liquid assets. These include securities in the Russell 1000 index, which tracks the one thousand largest U.S. companies by market value. It also covers major index ETFs and U.S. Treasury bills, bonds and notes. By allowing DTC to move forward more quickly, the No Action Letter helps the industry test how blockchain can support real assets at the scale of mainstream markets. A recent report from BCG notes that global tokenized assets could reach more than five trillion dollars by 2030. This shows a strong momentum behind this trend.
In an historic milestone, DTC received a No‑Action Letter from the SEC to tokenize certain DTC‑custodied assets. One example that illustrates the potential comes from a large U.S. asset manager that previously piloted private tokenized funds to improve settlement speed. The firm saw processing times fall from days to minutes during the test, showing how blockchain can simplify complex financial operations when backed by trusted infrastructure.
More About Tokenization
xStocks has launched the xBridge, a cross-chain solution that allows its tokenized equities to move freely across multiple blockchains. Built on Chainlink’s CCIP infrastructure, the xBridge connects Solana to Ethereum and beyond, becoming the first bridge to preserve rebasing for tokenized stocks. Unlike most tokens, equities regularly distribute dividends, undergo stock splits, and experience other corporate actions, which xStocks’ innovative token designs already address.
Introducing the xBridge
xStocks can now move freely across chains. With @chainlink‘s CCIP as its cross-chain infra, the xBridge connects Solana to Ethereum and more, the first bridge to preserve rebasing for tokenized equities.

The xBridge now ensures that these events remain synchronized across chains by translating Solana’s Token2022 multiplier model to Ethereum’s custom rebasing architecture. This development opens the door to an omnichain, composable future for tokenized equities, making cross-chain equity management seamless and reliable.
