On May 21, the firm confirmed it had finalized several capital and bond transactions totaling approximately €23.2 million.
The result? A major boost to its Bitcoin holdings—up by 227 BTC, now totaling 847 BTC. It will cement its role as a pioneer in combining traditional finance with digital asset accumulation.
Strategic Moves to Acquire BTC
The recent capital increase and bond issuances are part of the firm’s ongoing mission to increase Bitcoin holdings per share. In a capital raise completed on May 9, The Blockchain Group secured around €9.6 million. It was used to acquire 90 BTC for roughly €8.4 million. Just days later, a convertible bond issuance brought in another €12.1 million. This will enable the purchase of an additional 123 BTC.
A third transaction, completed via its Luxembourg-based subsidiary, added €1.5 million to the mix. This strategic move—executed through a reserved bond offering to asset manager TOBAM—added 14 BTC to the treasury.

These steps follow the company’s broader strategy of using traditional capital markets tools, such as share issuances and convertible bonds, to acquire digital assets. According to the company, the average purchase price across its BTC holdings stands at approximately €84,706 per coin.
Record Gains and Growing Momentum
The firm reports impressive performance in 2025 to date: a BTC yield of 861%, a total BTC gain of 344.4 BTC, and a euro-denominated BTC gain of €32.2 million. These figures highlight not only the bullish trend in Bitcoin’s price but also The Blockchain Group’s ability to time its acquisitions effectively.
This strategy aligns with a broader market shift where traditional companies are embracing digital assets as part of their corporate treasury. MicroStrategy in the U.S., for example, has famously adopted a similar approach—leveraging capital markets to buy Bitcoin at scale.
