The partnership aims to combine Franklin Templeton’s experience in compliant tokenization of securities with Binance’s global trading infrastructure. This opens the door for innovative solutions that make capital markets more efficient, transparent, and accessible.
By partnering, Binance and Franklin Templeton plan to deliver products that offer competitive yields while simplifying settlement and portfolio management.
Transforming Capital Markets
As Sandy Kaul, EVP and Head of Innovation at Franklin Templeton, explains, this collaboration leverages blockchain not as a threat to traditional finance, but as an opportunity to modernize it. Tools like Franklin Templeton’s Benji Technology Platform could reach a wider investor base, bridging the gap between institutional-grade solutions and retail access.

The partnership seeks to harness tokenization to create financial products that meet the needs of today’s investors. Tokenized assets can streamline settlement, reduce intermediaries, and improve transparency, allowing participants to move and manage capital more efficiently. Franklin Templeton and Binance will explore ways to implement these technologies across asset classes, offering investors new ways to diversify their portfolios.

Roger Bayston, EVP and Head of Digital Assets at Franklin Templeton, emphasizes that tokenization is about more than concepts. It enables practical efficiencies in collateral management, portfolio construction, and large-scale operations. For example, tokenized U.S. Treasury funds and other tokenized securities have already shown promise in reducing friction for institutional investors while providing onchain transparency.
