
When most people hear “Binance,” they immediately think of crypto trading, tokens, and digital wallets. Binance is making news in Mexico, but with something different, and it is not only about crypto.
The company has set up Medá, a licensed IFPE (Electronic Payment Funds Institution) in Mexico.
What is Medá?
Medá is a Mexican fintech firm established by Binance to process fiat transactions in Mexican pesos. It is an interface between the real money (pesos) and the online space. Medá is more of a financial service provider. Its primary purpose is to assist the population in depositing and withdrawing pesos.

Mexicans can now transfer money in and out of Binance with less dependence on cumbersome third-party payment apps. Meda is a registered and licensed company in Mexico, and it can operate within the financial regulations of the country.
Key Features of Medá
