Circle Research has rolled out a new developer framework called OOAK (Object-Oriented Agent Kit). The toolkit is designed for building AI agents that can safely handle sensitive tasks like managing wallets or sending crypto.
In traditional setups, most SDKs give agents access to a single global object that holds all the state data. This approach works fine at small scales but quickly becomes a mess in larger systems. Multiple agents end up sharing the same objects, raising risks around overlap, inefficiency, and even leaks of private information. But with OOAK, Circle changes that.
Instead of throwing every agent into the same pool, it lets developers build instance-based agents. Each agent manages its own state, whether that’s a wallet, a database, or a unique set of tools.
New from Circle Research: OOAK, a lightweight framework that lets AI agents use instance method tools, preserving state, isolating secrets, and scaling securely.

The Technical Edge
At the heart of OOAK is a decorator called @agent_tool. It allows developers to tie instance methods directly into an AI agent. That means an agent like WalletAgent can safely send USDC using only its assigned wallet. Other agents on the system can’t touch that wallet or even see it exists.

This is a big step forward for AI development in Web3. Developers no longer need to juggle global containers or inefficient workarounds like running MCP servers. Instead, they can scale agents while keeping their states fully isolated.
What It Means for Developers
For Web3 builders, OOAK offers a cleaner way to connect AI to blockchain operations. Want an AI agent that manages payments? Or another that talks to a customer database? OOAK makes it possible to run them side by side without collisions.

Circle has made the framework open for experimentation on GitHub, with plans to showcase more advanced workflows in upcoming updates.
With OOAK, Circle is giving developers the tools to build smarter, safer, and more flexible AI agents, an essential step as AI and Web3 continue to merge.
